Hi guys! Just wanted to share my LM haul from Hautelook as promised. It arrived on Friday, actually, exactly 13 business days after I made my order. (I find this to be pretty average for Hautelook.) Unfortunately, I left really early Friday morning, so I didn’t get my package until Sunday when I got back. I actually had SO bring the box with him when he picked me up from the airport teehee.
|Laura Mercier on Hautelook Sale Haul – Stickgloss in Peach Sorbet & Shimmer Bloc in Gilded Garden|
Despite the long shipping time, I am really happy with my order! I got the Stickgloss in Peach Sorbet and the Gilded Garden Shimmer Bloc. Peach Sorbet is the 7th Stickgloss in my collection! I really absolutely adore the Stickglosses – you can read my original review here. I can’t actually find Peach Sorbet on the Laura Mercier site or the Nordstrom’s website, so I assume that it was LE with some past collection. I can’t find a description of it, but I find it to be a pretty peachy, red-coral. There’s not that much pink in it, as you’ll see in the swatch below. I am also super happy to have finally gotten my hands on the Gilded Garden Shimmer Bloc. I really wanted it way back when Fuzkittie first featured and raved about it. I chose to skip it since I thought it’d be too cool, light and frosty for me, but I jumped on it at 50% off!
|Swatches: Stickgloss in Peach Sorbet, Gilded Garden Shimmer Bloc, Upper Left Pink Flower, Upper Right Bronze-y Flower, Middle Bright Pink Flower, Light Pink Base|
As you can see from the swatches, Peach Sorbet is quite red, but it’s a lot lighter and peachier than say, Poppy or Cranberry, which are my two red stickglosses. It’s also significantly peachier than Dior Addict High Shine in Gipsy Red, which is a deep coral-red. Um, I think you guys will see what I’m talking about in the FOTD below. The Shimmer Bloc is quite light and frosty, so I think it will be best suited as a highlighter on me, but I’m a lot less scared of cool pinks than I used to be, so I’m excited to really try it out soon. Sorry I forgot to do a blended swatch!
And here is my first FOTD in just about forever! My skin is still kind of freaking out… well, it got a lot better before my recruitment event, but flying and high-stress situations like super packed interview/recruitment weekends always messes up my skin. Today though, I decided to pull out my Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation SPF30 which I won from Ti Amo, whose blog I have currently misplaced… I tried it a few times in the winter, but I couldn’t tell whether it was breaking me out or not and didn’t particularly like the texture. Today I tried it with my new Coastal Scents Silica Powder and I like it a lot better! The coverage is surprisingly good for how sheer it is too. I’m not even wearing any concealer! :D (Not that I couldn’t probably use some, especially on my forehead LOL…)
I’m also wearing Tarina Tarantino blush in Parasol, so you guys can see it in a FOTD. Please keep in mind that I put it on very lightly with a fluffy brush (EcoTools Mineral Powder) and blended it out. It’s very pigmented and if you put it on with a denser blush brush, such as the EcoTools full-size Blush Brush, it would be a LOT brighter (though… I don’t particularly recommend this). I love it because it’s so pretty and glowy. I also dusted on a tad of the Gilded Garden Shimmer Bloc on the cheekbones with my MAC 188, but I don’t think you can really tell. (I try not to wear things that are too shimmery when I have uneven blemishes). I’m also wearing Peach Sorbet Stickgloss – you can see that it’s definitely peach/coral versus red. Perfect for spring and summer, no!? :D
