NOTW: Gold Flowers in Strawberry Fields

Hi guys! I have so much stuff to blog about I can hardly organize myself enough to choose what to post each day! LOL! I’m about to open up Things again and figure out where I am. It’s gotten a little crazy. But this is a good thing, right? Having too many things to blog about versus not having enough things to blog about LOL.

ANYWAY, today I just wanted to share the mani I’ve been wearing for the week. I did this last Saturday and I actually ran out of time to put a topcoat on at the very end, but I gotta say, Orly Bonder and Seche Vite (over Strawberry Fields, under the Konad stamp) did a pretty freaking fantastic job holding everything down. Seven full days later I only have tipwear, except for a massive chip out of my right middle finger, but that was actually a peeled layer of my nail ripping off rather than the polish chipping.

Orly Bonder, two coats China Glaze Strawberry Fields, Seche Vite, Konad Special Polish in Gold with Konad plate m73

The Konad wasn’t quite as subtle as in the pictures but I just couldn’t quite get it to pick up on camera. Overall still a pretty subtle, pretty nail design though. Strawberry Fields is probably my favorite nail polish ever. =)

I had to take all my funky nail polishes off for the big meeting today because I wanted to look more professional haha. yay okay need to Konad!!!! I love strawberry field! how come i’ve never discovered such a pretty color before! haha

    Catherine responds:

Ah, but now it’s the weekend so you can go crazy! :D I have to be honest, I actually consider Strawberry Fields to be a conference/interview safe color LMAO. You can totally tell I’m an academic.

I think Strawberry Fields was in China Glaze’s ’09 Summer Collection. It’s so beautiful! If you can’t find it, I’ll try to find one to send to you Lulu – I think everyone needs this color!

    Lulu responds:

yea i think it’s not too bad. it’s not extremely bright yet still vibrant enough and is def a nice shade of pink! I will look for it :) and probably should get some CG chrome since you recommended them to me last time for konading! :D hehehe

cute! lol totally reminds me of one of the Beatles’s songs! it looks so bright and springy on you :) I’m graduating this May! Wow your graduation sounds extremely long! lol I think everyone only looks forward to when it’s their turn to walk, as well as their friends…other than that…all the speeches and watching other people walk = boring! lol not to be rude or anything but it’s so painful sitting there for hours on end! haha xD That sucks that Sephora keeps discontinuing your fav. skincare products! I’m sorry to hear that, sweetie! But yeah about the e-mails, they’re not in my spam folder, so I don’t know what’s going on =( lol i actually have a habit of clearing out my spam folder everyday! lol i just hate seeing that I have spam in my spam folder….i don’t know, i’m weird like that haha >:P Hope you had a lovely Friday! :)

    Catherine responds:

I think it’s named after the Beatles song. =)

& hahaha. I honestly could do without the whole ceremony. I think the thing is I just don’t really know my whole college (we’re the biggest, about half our university). I’m more looking forward to the little get together my department has and the Ring Ceremony that the Engineering School has. Those are the people that I really went to school with and care about, ykwim?

& LOL! I used to be like that too!!! SO kept laughing at me so I finally hid my spam and trash count using the Gmail labs options. One less thing to worry about haha.

Of all pink w/ gold shimmer/glitter polishes, I think this is the best! And China Glaze does the glass fleck glitter so, so well. :D

    & huh? What store?

    makeup morsels responds:

lol I’m sorry I have no idea what I was talking about. blame all the SAT II practice tests I’ve been taking. >.<

    Hahahahaha, no worries!

Good luck on the SATs!! I remember taking those haha. Decided to take all three of mine in one go, probably one of the worse decisions in my life lmao. Which ones are you taking?

    [Reply]

    makeup morsels responds:

Math and Bio M. I don’t know what I could have possibly been thinking, those are my 2 worst subjects.
.-= makeup morsels´s last blog ..Intensive Skincare with Prescriptives =-.

    [Reply]

    Catherine responds:

Awwww, sorry to hear that. I took both of those too. Bio isn’t too bad if you’re studying well for your class. Math is hard to get a high percentile in because of the population that takes the test, but I’m sure you’ll do awesome! Just practice your algebra and geometry. Good luck!! =)

    makeup morsels responds:

Bio seems ok, I took the practice tests and it wasn’t too bad. But math is…awful lol. I hate math so much. I would take the history but I’m in AP Euro and the test covers a lot of stuff from reg history (world). bleghh it’s like getting punished for being in AP lol

I seriously want to wear this one all the time but I feel bad ignoring all my other polishes (and it’s already used up past the top of the China Glaze symbol so I want to kep it as long as possible!). It’s definitely my most used polish.

& HAHAHA yay!!! We can be Friends n00bs together. :D

& haha. I think the combination of top coat and base coat that works best for you is a process of trial and error since it really depends on your own body chemistry… but for me Orly Bonder and Seche Vite work so well I haven’t really been moved to try anything else. =)

That shade of pink is glorious! But you made this into such a fun and fresh look with the fine gold top coat. I've never seen such a shimmering gold glitter before.

    Catherine responds:

Oh the polish comes like this! It’s one of China Glaze’s beautiful glass flecks. The gold glitter is already in the pink polish. I didn’t add anything to it except the Konad. I think it’s the most glorious pink + gold polish I’ve ever seen. =)

& thanks! They’re pretty ok except for the middle finger nail on my right hand, it’s always breaking at the same corner T_T; I imagine it must be because of the way I use it or something.
